A plane crash stranded you on an uninhabited island and your taks is to survive for atleast 20 days, because then another plane will pass the island closely. You will have to eat and drink enough to stay alive, but you will also need a shelter and a hot fire to stay warm and dry. At some point you will have to create some sort of signal to let any passing planes know that you are there.

As it was a prerequisite we used an eyetracking device in this game to see if the experience would be different for the player and how it would be different. In the game we used the device to highlight items in the world, that could be of use to the player, that the player was looking at.

Stranded

We created this game in a group of 5 people in a +-50 hours. My part in this was the crafting/inventory. Players were able to pickup items from the world and combine them to create shelter/fire/food etc. When placing one item in the crafting grid, the items that could be used in combination with the current item would lit up in the player's inventory.

The hardest part in this game for me was the highlighting of all items that could be combined with the current item(s).

Programs I Used:

  • Unity (Game Engine)
